Playing the Me&Thee

If you’d like to be considered for a booking at the Me&Thee, these are the guidelines you need to know first. Please read them, understand them, and then proceed.

We book very selectively from musicians who reach out to us from literally all over the world and from musicians and groups we have scouted.

We are only open two Fridays a month, from September through May. We are closed in December and January.

We book talent 6–12 months in advance. We very rarely book musicians we have not seen in person. We do not book cover bands and rarely book bands with full drum kits.

Since 1970, our historic venue has presented traditional folk, singer-songwriters, blues, jazz, ethnic, world, Americana, Western swing, R&B, bluegrass, a cappella, and spoken word. We’re always open to hear something new, innovative and creative if we think we can attract an audience to enjoy it.

Because of the massive volume of inquiries we receive, we cannot respond to everyone. That doesn’t mean we don’t like your music. If we think your music may be a good fit for our audience, we’ll reach out to you.

The Me&Thee has fully supported musicians since its founding in 1970. We want each Me&Thee event to work well with an appreciative audience and cooperative musicians in a friendly, non-alcoholic, up-close atmosphere.

We are an all-volunteer organization and our volunteers’ well-being comes first. We treat musicians fairly. We ask that we be treated fairly as well. We like to work with musicians who appreciate that essential symbiotic relationship.

If you think you could be part of this tradition, reach out to us. Thanks.
