It’s not often that one gets the chance to hear someone as good as Raymond Gonzalez and be able to tell the world that he’s from your hometown! Raymond dazzled the me & thee audience last night with absolutely brilliant guitar stylings, amusing anecdotes, and some amazing variations of old traditional tunes and a generous smattering of some gorgeous original tunes from all of his recordings.
I smiled as I looked around the audience last night. It was most definitely a Marblehead kind of night which is unusual at the me & thee. Generally, audience members come from far and wide to see and hear the performers so it’s not typical to look around and see a bunch of people who you see at the supermarket or local shops at any of our weekly shows. It sure was nice to attend this warm CD release party with many Marblehead-area friends and local fans. I’m convinced, however, that Raymond’s grace and gentle artistry which exudes out of every note he plays, will continue to become more well known beyond the borders of this little seaside town.
A big shout out to WUMB radio DJ, Dave Palmater, who attended the show and has been instrumental in getting Raymond back out there on stage. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
